welcomes you to ....
The

Legacy projects
The list of 150th anniversary legacy projects being undertaken in the lead up to the 2026 Stanthorpe Show is as follows:
150th anniversary quilt

Calling all our stitchcrafters, handcrafters, fibrecrafters, etc out there who would like to participate in a project that will leave lasting memories, long after the 150th anniversary show is finished. We want to create a 150th anniversary quilt that will have pride of place at the showgrounds showcasing our strong connection with our community.
We need you to make a 6 inch fabric square (finished size) showcasing one or more of these themes:
1) what the Stanthorpe Agricultural Society means to you
2) what the Stanthorpe Show means to you
3) what agriculture in general, or living in a rural town, means to you.
The squares will be individually sewn to a backing fabric, they will not be sewn together. So please either make a mini quilt with wadding and binding, or at least finish your edges so that they are not raw.
These squares can be from any fabric or craft medium and the image on it can be as wide and as varied as your imagination. And why stop at one? Once you're on a roll, make a few.
Squares can be dropped into the show office during 9am - 12pm or posted to 8 High St, Stanthorpe Q 4380 by the end of December. Download the form to accompany your squares.

Grandstand model

Local model maker Shane Donnelly has graciously agreed to apply his modelmaking talents and create a replica of the grandstand that used to grace Stanthorpe Showgrounds.

Shearer's stove restoration

Garry Ellis has also been applying his talents and over the past few years has been lovingly restoring the shearer's stove that once resided in the tea pavilion annex. With the annex removed, upon its return, the shearer's stove will reside in the main tea pavilion building, showcasing the mastery of Garry's talents, but also the workmanship that went into creating stoves of that size and stature.
