SECTION E2 - PRIME LAMB CARCASS

WHAT WE DO

The Prime lamb carcass team is part of the Sheep and Wool subcommittee and is responsible for coordinating the prime lamb carcass competitions and displays that take place at the show each year.

PRIME LAMB CARCASS COMPETITION

The Prime Lamb Carcass competition encourages lamb producers from the Granite Belt, traprock country and further afield to showcase the best of their livestock through a carcass competition. Judging is performed on the quality of the carcass and the competition provides a great opportunity for producers to learn more about the ‘trade’ specifications for lambs required by domestic butchers, and to compare notes over the finer points of feeding and genetics.
